Certifications, Rebuilt for How Farms Actually Certify.

Some farms hold one certification. Plenty hold more. An organic certificate from one certifier, a biodynamic one from another, a PGS membership on top. Until now, LiteFarm could record exactly one, through a four-screen setup built around exactly one.

This update changes that.

Add every certification your farm holds

You can now add as many certifications as you need, from as many certifiers as you work with. Each one lives on a single page: pick the type, name the certifier, add your certificate number and dates, done. No more wizard walking you through four screens to say one thing.

PGS, treated like PGS

If your farm is verified through a Participatory Guarantee System, the form speaks your language. You'll enter a PGS group name, not a "certifying body." A member ID, not a certificate number. And if your group doesn't issue member IDs at all, some don't, you can leave it blank.

Certified, or getting there

Not every certification is in hand yet. Mark one as pursuing and LiteFarm tracks it for you, and only for you. Pursuing certifications stay internal. They never appear anywhere public.

Expiry dates that speak up

A certification nearing its valid-until date shows an "Expiring soon" warning and a nudge to update it. Nothing gets removed on its own. Your records stay yours to manage.

Your certifications, working beyond the farm

Here's the payoff. If you choose to publish your farm to a partner market directory, your active certifications travel with it, shown on your listing as a trust signal for buyers. You enter them once, in Certifications, and that's the only place they're ever edited. The directory just reads them.

Publishing is opt-in, always. Nothing is shared without your explicit consent.

Exporting for your certifier

Exports work the way they always have, with one addition: since your farm can now hold several certifiers, you pick which one you're exporting for. Everything after that step is unchanged.

Nothing moved, by the way. Certifications is right where it's always been in the navigation menu.

Already recorded a certification in LiteFarm? It's still there. Because the old version never asked whether a certification was in hand or in progress, everything has been imported as pursuing. If yours is active, open it, switch the status, and fill in the details we couldn't collect before, like your certificate number and expiry date. That's what makes it ready to publish.
