We are delighted to introduce our most recent team member: Larisse Cavalcante, the new Farmer Success Associate (FSA). Larisse, who started with LiteFarm last month, holds a degree in environmental engineering and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Agroecosystems at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) in Florianópolis, Brazil, where she is based.
Larisse has been working closely with David Trapp, our Farmer Success Manager (FSM), to support both users and partners, ensuring that their requests are responded to promptly. Larisse will be assisting David with product demonstrations, partner onboarding and user feedback. Additionally, she will be responsible for creating content and improving LiteFarm’s efforts to share our successes and those of our partners with the community. She is also increasing LiteFarm’s social media presence on LinkedIn and Facebook.
Larisse’s journey with LiteFarm started two years ago, when she joined a team of advisors who contributed with recommendations on how the platform could better suit the needs for diversified farming. Since then, she has been part of a team of international researchers who are conducting studies on drivers and limitations of crop diversification, such as access to land and labour, in partnership with LiteFarm.
“I have always been interested in indicators; I think they are key for monitoring sustainability. Moreover, I see the association of ancestral knowledge and affordable technologies as the only possible pathway for the future of food systems. That is why LiteFarm caught my interest when I was introduced to it: the platform has the potential to support all of that, without compromising data sovereignty”, Larisse says. “It has been extremely enriching to work on an international team of such experienced professionals from various backgrounds and cultures. I am grateful to have the opportunity to learn with them and to contribute towards a purpose that I believe in”, she adds.
